A Marriott Wedding

Celebrating these two amazing people was such a fun-filled day. Michelle and Steven got married on July 27th, 2024 with the sun shining and the birds chirping, ready for a perfect love day. We started off at the brides home where we took bride portraits outside and got the pleasure of capturing a traditional tea ceremony. It was so filled with family love it was actually incredible to witness - if you’ve never photographed one or even attended one, it really is beautiful to see. Essentially, it’s a symbol of merging the two families and the serving/drinking of the tea is the parents way of accepting a new person into their family - I know, cue the tears. From a photo side - it was a lot of people and so I highly recommend having a wide lens handy with a flash that you can easily manoeuvre.

After the tea ceremony, we headed to Christ Cathedral for some photos with the bride, groom and wedding party. Now this was a fun spot - just a lot of very cool architecture that can make for some great shots. The bridal party was small and sweet - 4 people total which made the day super smooth to coordinate. It was a scorcher outside so we made sure to bring an umbrella for the bridal party to stand under while other photos were being taken because the heat was no joke. This was also really helpful for us as well - I was SWEATING! lol. But if you are doing something like this in the heat, make sure to move as quick as you can and try to find somewhere a little shady for people to stand when they’re not being photographed.

Once we scratched our photo itch, we headed to the Marriott, which was where the reception was being held. We took some getting ready photos in the hotel room (we kind of faked these because we didn’t get them from the brides first dress change and the hotel was just giving so much better lighting). The ceremony itself was lovely, very intimate. It was all indoors and so flash was a MUST but nonetheless, a gorgeous place.

And finally - the reception!! This was super fun, the room was GORGEOUS, the details were detailing all the way and not to mention the room was great to work with for my flash bounce setup. The wedding coordinator there did an incredible job guiding the day and keeping our photo team in the loop so we can capture all the moments.
